Alma Jean Garrett, 79, resident of Wasson passed away Thursday June 30, 2016 at Carrier Mills Nursing and Rehab. Alma was born August 24, 1936 in Eldorado to the late Elmer and Louise (Reed) Johnson. Alma was a devout christian and her passions were God, family, sewing, and painting. Alma was owner and operator of “The Sewing Nook” in Wasson. Surviving are one son; Ralph (Juanita) Garrett of Wasson, two grandchildren; Brenda Garcia of Wasson, Robbie Garrett of Wasson, two great grandchildren; Desiree Garrett and Jared Garrett, a great nephew; Rev. Dan (Maria) Pilkington of Harrisburg, another great nephew; David Hill of Eldorado, a great niece Melanie (Bobby) Jolley of Norris City, Several great great nieces and nephews and 1 great great great nephew. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister; Elner D. Quillman, a brother Wayne Johnson, and a niece; Rev. Paulette Guillerman. Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Wednesday July 6, 2016 at Colonial Terrace Funeral Home in Eldorado with Rev. John Hawkins and Rev. Dan Pilkington officiating.  Burial will be in Wolf Creek Cemetery.  Visitation will be 10:00 am to service time at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family to help offset funeral expenses and will be accepted at the funeral home.
