Betty L. Phelps, resident of Harrisburg passed away at her residence Saturday, November 12, 2016 surrounded by family. Betty was born in Harrisburg, Illinois. Betty worked as the South Twigg Township Clerk for 17 years. Betty is survived by her husband; Paul Phelps of Harrisburg, two sons; Steve McKinnis of Harrisburg, Todd Phelps of Raleigh, four grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Betty was preceded in death by her first husband George McKinnis and a son; Tom, a brother; James L. Roberts and a sister Mary Ruth Sundeen. Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at Colonial Terrace Funeral Home in Eldorado with Rev. Tom Plog officiating. Burial will be in Hickory Hill Cemetery in Broughton. Visitation is from 3-8 pm Monday, November 14, 2016 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society and will be accepted at the funeral home.
