Dale Langford

May 18, 1942 ~ August 12, 2015 (age 73) 73 Years Old

Dale Langford, 73, of Harrisburg, passed away on Wednesday, August 12, 2015, at the Marion VA Medical Center in Marion.  Dale was born in Cedar Bluff, Miss. on May 18, 1942 to the late James Andrew “Andy” and Emma (Blake) Langford.  He was preceded in death by a sister, Margie Frank and brother, Vernon Langford.  He is survived by his loving wife, Margaret Ann (Wentzel) Langford of thirty-five years; one daughter, Vickie and Richard Bowers of Mt. Vernon, Ind.; two sons, Willie Dale “Bill” Langford and fiancé, Melanie Arthur of Harrisburg, and Jeff Miles of Galatia; three grandchildren, William “B.J.” and Jene` Respondek of Lemoore, Cal., and James R. “Jamie” Goodman of Desoto; brothers, Raymond Dennis Langford of Gautier, Miss., Thomas Langford of Missouri City, Tex., and Billie Mac Langford of Athens, Ala.   And is greatest affection was for his two great grandchildren, Isabella Marie Respondek and Luke Goodman Deleonardis.  His greatest enjoyment in life was his family of brothers, sister, and cousins from back home in Mississippi.  He relished every Fourth of July weekend when we would all convene on cousins, Beverly and Jon Ed Freshour home in West Point, Miss. for the annual family reunion.  He made the trip for Aunt Margie’s homemade caramel cake and the old time country and gospel music of the Blake Family.  Dale had to miss it for the past couple of years but was with them in spirit.  His other past times included going to Tunica, Miss. with friends and family for a night or two of slot machine play and was more lucky than not to hear him tell it.  He also enjoyed meeting with his friends for a glass of ice tea at the Bar-B-Q Barn just about every afternoon.  Dale cared greatly for his favorite waitresses who were like daughters to him.  Visitation for Dale will be held on Monday, August 17, 2015 from 11 a.m. until service time at 1 p.m. at the Colonial Terrace Funeral Home in Eldorado.  Funeral Mass will begin at 1 p.m. at the St. Mary Catholic Church in Eldorado with Father Abraham Adejoh conducting the service.  Burial will be at the St. Joseph Cemetery near Eldorado with Military Rites by the Eldorado VFW with the  Army Honors Team.
