James “Talky” A. Talkington, 55, resident of Eldorado passed away Sunday June 18, 2017 at the Hamilton County Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro. Jim was born July 31, 1961 in Wasteka, Illinois to James and Rae (Schriefer) Talkington. For 25 years, Jim worked at Southeastern Illinois Electric Coop at the Marion power generating station near Lake of Egypt and was a member of IBEW Local 702. In addition to his parents Jim is survived by a daughter Jimi Erin Talkington of Eldorado, granddaughter; Nova Lynn Gabbard, brother; Vince (Shannon) Talkington of Raleigh, ex wife; Penny Talkington of Eldorado, sister in laws; Janice Talkington and Kim (Shawn) Slay, uncle; Millard (Paula) Talkington, nieces; Elsie (Dakota Parker) Talkington, TeJay (Keyandre Waychoff) Talkington, Laci and Land Lamont, nephews; Tyler (Tasha) Talkington, Will Talkington and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Jim was preceded in death by a son; Kaleb Aaron, a brother Mike, a nephew, Steven Michael and all of his grandparents. Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at Colonial Terrace Funeral Home in Eldorado with Rev. Russell Helton officiating.
