John Robert “Bob” Watson, 63, resident of Eldorado passed away Sunday, January 1, 2017 at Deaconess Gateway Medical Center in Newburg, Indiana. Bob was born October 31, 1953 in Eldorado to the late Ralph and Evelyn (Cotton) Watson. He worked at American Coal until his retirement in 2012. Bob was a member of the Eldorado Mens Club and and avid golfer and fisherman. Bob is survived by a daughter; Amy (Tony) Fernandez of O’Fallon, granddaughter; Emily Violet, a brother; Jerry Watson of Raleigh, a sister; Judy (John) Su of TX, a sister-in-law; Linda Watson of Belleville and companion; Musette Reed of Eldorado. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers; Art and Ron, and a sister; Pat Altshuler. Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm Friday, January 6, 2017 at Colonial Terrace Funeral Home in Eldorado with Rev. Aaron Phelps officiating. Burial will be in Wolf Creek Cemetery. Visitation is Friday 10:00 am to service time. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association and will be accepted at the funeral home.
