Larry Gene Bowers

 Larry Gene Bowers, 73, of Harrisburg, passed away at his home on Friday, December 30, 2016.   He was born on June 2, 1943 in Hammond, Ind., the son of the late Alonzo Quentin and Dorothy (Hafford) Bowers.  Larry married Mary Sisky on January 18, 1969, who survives.  He was very active in the community as a member of the St. Mary Catholic Church in Harrisburg and served as past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus, Harrisburg Masonic Lodge #325 and an Ainad Shriner.  Also he was a Vietnam Air Force veteran and an avid fan of cardinal baseball.   Larry loved to spend time with his grandchildren, along with his beloved cat, Charlie and Grand dog, Willy.  He leaves behind by his wife, Mary Bowers of Harrisburg; two daughters, Lisa and Chris Lawson of Matton, Amy and Bryan Elders of Harrisburg; four grandchildren, Alic Bianco, Cameron Bianco, Abbey Mae Elders, Miranda Elders, one great grandchild, Knox Boon and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.  He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Lonnie Bowers.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to his Grandchildren’s College Funds.  Visitation will be 9:00 am to noon Saturday, January 14, 2017 at Colonial Terrace Funeral Home in Eldorado. A memorial mass will be said at 1:00 pm Saturday, January 14, 2017 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Harrisburg.
