Martha Ann Camp

September 9, 1930 ~ July 10, 2017 (age 86) 86 Years Old


Martha Ann Camp, 86, lifelong resident of Eldorado passed away Monday July, 10, 2017 under hospice care.  Martha was born September 9, 1930 in Eldorado, Illinois.  She married Gerald Camp who preceded her in death May 19, 1984. 
Martha was a faithful member of the Eldorado First Presbyterian Church.  She worked for many years at First State Bank in Eldorado as the receptionist at the main bank.  
Martha will be remembered for her love of family, respect for all others, affinity for children, quiet sense of dignity, pride in her Eldorado roots, steadfast belief in God, and her award-winning home-made "divinity" often requested by friends and neighbors around the Holidays. 
Martha is survived by three children; Gayla (John) Gardner of Harrisburg, Kerry (Danielle) Camp of Harrisburg, Melissa (Rick) Stricklin of Tipp City, OH, seven grandchildren; Erin (Jason) Barton, Natalie (David) Fry, Sydney (Patrick) Solem, Briley Houston, Kyle Stricklin, Kory (Destiny) Stricklin, Kerry (Miranda) Stricklin, seven great grandchildren; Mallory and Ben Barton, Ethan Fry, Kamdyn, Blake, Burke and Isaac Stricklin, a brother-in-law; O.B. (Rae) Camp of Eldorado and several special nieces and nephews. 
In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her mother Lillian Sutton, sister Sybil (Michael) Keating, brother-in-law Gene (Doris) Camp, and sisters-in-law Mildred (Kenneth) Cox  and Thelma (Wayne) Sherman.  Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, July 22, 2017 at the First Presbyterian Church in Eldorado with Rev. Laurie Fields officiating, and the Rev. Walter Baker and Kerry Camp providing eulogies.  
A time of gathering for the service will be 10:00 am to service time at 11:00 am.  Burial will be private in Lindale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Eldorado or Hospice of Southern Illinois.  Condolences and expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family via the website www.colonialterracefuneralhome.com
