Nelda M. Brandsasse, 79, passed away Thursday June 30, 2016 at Ferrell Hospital. Nelda was born in Evansville, Indiana on March 5, 1937 to the late Sherman R. and Gertrude C. (Harper) Alvers. Nelda married William J. Brandsasse who preceded her in death in 2013. Prior to retirement she worked as a sales clerk at Wal-Mart. She was Baptist by faith and was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church. Nelda is survived by 4 sons; William J. Brandsasse, Jr. of Eldorado, Stephen W. (Kay) Brandsasse of Eldorado, Michael R. Brandsasse of Mt. Vernon, Indiana, Jeffery Scott Brandsasse of Decatur, four daughters; Teresa (Mike) Davis of Marion, Angela Rose (Lloyd) Jones of Muddy, Linda Fay (Jeff) Stovall of Harrisburg, Marilyn (Vince) Ragan of Blairsville, a brother; Carl E. Alvers of Evansville, a sister; Ruth I Gorman of Evansville, 20 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by three brothers; Delbert S. Alvers, Raymond F. Alvers, Ted Alvers and a sister, Rosalie Scalf. Funeral services will be at Noon Saturday, July 2, 2016 at Colonial Terrace Funeral Home with pastor Mike Fields officiating. Burial will be in Rhine Cemetery in Raleigh. Visitation will be Saturday 9:00 am to service time at Noon.
