Phyllis Ann (Weaver) Simich, wife of Bosco Simich of Eldorado, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 14, 2016 at the age of 86. Mrs. Simich had been a resident of Eldorado since her marriage to Mr. Simich on January 1, 1949. They were married at the United Methodist Church in Morganfield, Kentucky. 

Phyllis was born on May 18, 1930 to Troy and Mary Madge (Monroe) Weaver on the farm of her grandparents, Robert and Mary Weaver near Mt. Moriah United Methodist Church, of which her ancestors were founding members. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her step mother, Eunice Weaver, her infant daughter, Ginger Lynn Simich and a brother Philip Weaver. In addition to husband of nearly 68 years, she is survived by her daughter, Suzanne (Fred) Scott of Eldorado, her son Barry (Leslie) Simich of Carmel, Indiana, granddaughter Victoria Simich of  Carmel, Indiana, three step grandsons, Nathan (Kristina) Scott, Michael Scott, Chris (Lauren) Scott and four step great grandchildren, Danielle, Callie, Oliver and Emmett Scott. She is also survived by two brothers and three sister in laws. They being, Robert (Emily) Weaver of New Caney, Texas, Jeff (Karen) Weaver of Sterling Heights, Michigan and Marlene Weaver of Marion, Illinois as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. 

Phyllis was active in the United Methodist Church most of her life and was a 6th generation Methodist. She was a Sunday School Teacher for nearly 60 years, a Bible School leader, Girl Scout leader, and Room Mother at Beulah Heights School. She attended Harco Grade School and graduated in 1948 from Galatia High School. Mrs. Simich assisted her husband in operating the American Baking Company in Eldorado for many years, and later in his association with Archway Cookies. She loved her family dearly and always enjoyed hosting the many family dinners in her home over the course of her life. Her Christian faith was her guiding mission in life, as was serving others and this will be her lasting legacy. 

Visitation for Mrs. Simich will be from 10:00am to 1:00pm Monday, October 15, 2016 at Colonial Terrace Funeral Home in Eldorado with funeral services at 1:00 pm on Monday. Rev Chris Wise will officiate with burial in Wolf Creek Cemetery. Her family would like to thank the many friends who have called and visited over the years, and especially during her recent illness. Special thanks is given to Dr. Albert Bledig and Alice Bledig for their many years of dedicated medical services they have provided to Phyllis. Thanks also to Deaconess VNA Hospice and the staff at Ferrell Hospital. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church Memorial Fund. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
