Regina Lee “Genie” Collins, 83, of Eldorado, passed away on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at 8 a.m. at the Eldorado Rehab and Healthcare in Eldorado. She was born on December 21, 1932 in Equality, the daughter of Henry G. and Florence Madeline (Wargel) Rexing. Genie married Patrick E. Collins Jr. on October 4, 1955 and he preceded her in death on September 29, 1986. She was a secretary at Roundy’s in Eldorado. Also, she was a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Eldorado, the Altar Society and VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Genie is survived by her two brothers, Louis Rexing of Herod, Norman and Rose Mary Rexing of Bethalto, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three siblings, Carl Rexing, Cedric Rexing and Louise Simpson. Visitation for Genie will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 31, 2016 with Rosary at 7 p.m. at the Colonial Terrace Funeral Home in Eldorado. Funeral Mass will be on Friday, April 1, 2016 at 11 a.m. at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Eldorado with Father Steven Beatty officiating. Burial will be at the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery near Eldorado. Memorials may be to the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.
