Robert Scott McBride

Robert Scott McBride lost his battle to cancer on Friday, October 21, 2016. He died at his home in Harrisburg, IL surrounded by his family. Scott was born on January 22, 1952 in Danville, IL to Don and Doris (Tuggle) McBride. He married Dora “Cissie” Lee on September 13, 1974 and had one son, Grant McBride, whom he was very proud. Scott earned a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology and Bachelor of Science in Information Systems Technology. He worked most of his life as a tool and die maker but later got a job he truly loved as an IT person for the Franklin-Williamson Regional Office of Education. Surviving are his wife, Cissie McBride of Harrisburg, IL; son Grant McBride of Jonesboro, GA; brothers Don (Charlotte) McBride of Hoopeston, IL, Terry (Debbie) McBride of Hoopeston, IL, Tim (Linda) McBride of Blaine, WA; and several cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, infant brother and niece. He was an avid reader all of his life. He enjoyed target shooting, being with family and his dog, Fritz. He wished to say a special thank you to his family and friends for traveling this journey with him, giving him encouragement, love and support. Per his request, there will be no services. Colonial Terrace Funeral Home and Crematory in Eldorado assisted the family with arrangements.
