Ruby "Ruth" Marie (Hamblin) Bell, 84, resident of Harrisburg passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at the Shawnee Rose Health and Rehab Center. Ruth was born July 9, 1931 in Carmi, IL to the late Frederick and (Verna) Hamblin. She was Baptist by faith. Ruth is survived by a daughter: Marcia Jenkins of Harrisburg; two sons: Doug Bell of Harrisburg and Tracy Bell of Portage, IN; a brother: Gary (Shirley) Hamblin of Carmi; two sisters: Shirley (Ebert) French of McLeansboro and Karen (Ray) Yates of Carmi; four grandchildren: Chrystal Taylor, Tim Jenkins, Amanda Ledbetter and Grant Bell; five great grandchildren: Brittany, Lauren, Jared, Sierra and Tucker; and two great great grandchildren: Owen and Elliott. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sons: Robert Hamblin, John Lee Bell and Bradley Scott Bell; three brothers: Frederick “Buck” Hamblin, Maurice Hamblin and an infant brother; four sisters: Eleanor Sumner, Berniece Neu, Vonda Groves and Sharon Slay; and a great granddaughter: Christina Alexis Locklar. Funeral services will be at 4:00 pm Saturday, March 19, 2016 at Colonial Terrace Funeral Home in Eldorado with Rev. Russell Helton officiating. Burial will be in Bruce Chapel Cemetery near Carmi.
