Ruth Carolyn Duckworth, 79, resident of Eldorado passed away Sunday, January 17, 2016 at the Methodist Hospital in Union County, Kentucky. Ruth Carolyn was born January 28, 1936 in Eldorado to the late James Thomas and Wilma E. (Smith) Garner. She was a member of the Eldorado First United Methodist Church. Ruth Carolyn was a graduate of Eastern Illinois University with a bachelors degree in education. She worked as a teacher and was a homemaker during retirement. She married Robert Duckworth who preceded her in death February 9, 2011. Ruth Carolyn is survived by her daughter Martha Ruth Duckworth of Sturgis, Kentucky. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a brother; James Benjamin Garner and a nephew; Paul James Garner. Funeral services will be 11:00 am Thursday, January 21, 2016 at Colonial Terrace Funeral Home with Pastor Chris Wise officiating. Burial will be in Wolf Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 20, 2016 from 5-7 pm at the funeral home. In addition to flowers memorial contributions may be made in Ruth Carolyn’s memory to the First United Methodist Church and will be accepted at the funeral home.
