Thomas David Mick

March 21, 1944 ~ October 23, 2016 (age 72) 72 Years Old


Thomas David Mick, 72, resident of Muddy, Illinois passed away Sunday, October 23, 2016 at Eldorado Nursing and Rehab.  Tom was born March 21, 1944 in Harrisburg to the late Clyde and Lola (Leverrett) Mick. After the untimely death of Tom’s father, his mother Lola married Robert Parish who also preceded him in death.  Tom married the former Mary Strayer who survives.  Prior to retirement Tom was a salesman for the Frito-Lay Company.  He and his wife have been long time members of the Bankston Fork Baptist Church in Harrisburg. In addition to his wife Mary, he is survived by a son; Thomas J. (Sheral) Mick of Las Cruces, NM, two daughters; Diana (Wesley) Harryman Lackey of Sugarland, TX, Robin (Paul) Robinson of Thompsonville, six grandchildren; Jessica (Billy) Carter, Alex Lackey, Kyle Butler, Kevin Mick, Jonathan Mick, Madison Mick, two great grandchildren; Liam and Brantley Carter, a sister-in-law; Jean Mick of Gladden, MI, many nieces, nephews and cousins, and last but not least his faithful dog Eli. In addition to his parents and stepfather he was preceded in death by three brothers; Sam, John and Kenneth Mick, three sisters; Ambie Mick Pooley, Betty Hinkle, Grace Beal and a brother -n-law; Charles Beal. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 am Thursday, October 27, 2016 at the Bankston Fork Baptist Church in Harrisburg with Pastor David Smith officiating.  Burial will be in Sunset Lawn Cemetery with military rites. Visitation is 5-7 pm Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at Colonial Terrace Funeral Home in Eldorado. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois and will be accepted at both the funeral home and the church.
