Wanda V. (Hendricks) Cox

 Wanda V. Cox (Hendricks), 86, former resident of Eldorado and Goreville, Ill. passed away Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at Parkway Manor in Marion, Ill.  Wanda was born June 24, 1931 in LaPlace, Ill. to  Delmar and Bertha Hendricks.  She married Earl J Cox on March 12, 1952 and they enjoyed 61 years of marriage until his death, March 2, 2014.  Wanda grew up in Flora, Ill., and later moved to Eldorado, Ill. where she raised her family. Wanda was a member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary in Eldorado.  Wanda dedicated her life to her family, she was an excellent cook and loved to bake and sew.  She enjoyed many years living at the Lake of Egypt spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and enjoyed traveling with her husband after his retirement.  Wanda is survived by a daughter Joyce (Cindy) Littrell of Mount Vernon, a son Bruce (Linda) Cox of Goreville, one sister Patty (Bob) Fitzgerald of Flora, grandchildren, Jacenta (Frank) Thompson, Shana (John) Littrell, Denean (Wesley) Riggs, John Peek, Jenny Coberly, Latisha (Michael) Dunning, Bradley (Ashley) Reach, Lindsey (Clint) Lacy and sixteen great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews whom she loved them all dearly. In addition to her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters Evelyn Marvel, Vera Hendricks, and Dorothy Bass. Funeral services will be held Friday, August 4, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Colonial Terrace Funeral Home in Eldorado with Wesley Riggs officiating.  Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Flora, Ill.  Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. before the service.
