Wayne Harner

Earl Wayne Harner, 82, resident of Eldorado passed away Thursday May 12, 2016 at the Hamilton Memorial Hospital. Wayne was born in December 12, 1933 in Tunnell Hill, Illinois to the late Paul and Esther (Vinson) Harner.  He married the former Mary Ann Smith who survives.  Wayne served in the US Army during the Korean War. Prior to retirement, he worked as a line foreman for Illinois Power.  Wayne was a member of the First Christin Church in Eldorado where he served in many capacities, including being and Elder.  Wayne was a member of the Eldorado Masonic Lodge, the American Legion and the Local IBEW.  His greatest love was the Lord, his family and his church family.  In addition to his wife, he is survived by four daughters; Cindy (Greg) Ridley of Eldorado, Bobbi Patton of Texas, Tina (Eddie) Lane of Raleigh, Stacy (Bobby) Ragsdale of Harrisburg, a son; Doug Harner of Eldorado, three brothers; Kenneth (Boots) Harner, Jerry (Kay) Harner, Darrell (Linda) Harner all of Tunnel Hill, Wayne’s best friend and brother-in-law; Bill (Betty) Smith, a sister-in-law, Sandra Smith, 10 grandchildren; Jacob (Gloria) Patton, Chaney Patton, Sylvia (Chris) Anderson, Shannon (Abby) Lane, Cody (Hannah) Lane, Josh (Morgan) Harner, Brandon (Stacy) Harner, Ivie Harner, Dylan (Sage Basham) Ragsdale, Ryan Ragsdale, 6 great grandchildren; Adilyn Lane, Deacon Lane, Corbin Lane, Logan Lane, Dalton Harner and Zander Harner.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister; Georgia Gardner and a son-in-law; Steve Patton. In accordance with Wayne’s wishes, he will be cremated and there will be no public services at this time. In lieu of flowers. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Christian Church in Wayne’s memory. Colonial Terrace Funeral Home and crematory assisted the family with cremation arrangements.
