Dorothy Ping-Mason, 87, of Eldorado, Ill., passed away at her home on Thursday, April 18, 2019, 8:10 a.m. surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Eldorado on February 10, 1932, the daughter of the late Lowell and Ermal (Endicott) Cheek. Dorothy married Fred Ping on February 12, 1949. Fred preceded Dorothy in death on April 16, 1988. On October 30, 1993 Dorothy married Maurice Mason who survives. She is also leaves behind four sons, Fred and Donna Ping of Stonefort, Danny and Jonnie Beth Ping of Hendersonville, N.C., Johnny and Cathy Ping of Harco, Mark Ping of Eldorado; one daughter, Faye and Dann Baugher of Palmetto, Fla.; three sisters, Gail and Robert McSparin of Eldorado, Faye and Bruce Lane of Marion, Judy and Stan Hull of Newburgh, Ind.; one brother, Tommy Cheek of Newburgh, Ind.; twelve grandchildren; twenty-three great grandchildren; and ten great great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Bobby and Gene Cheek. Visitation for Dorothy will be held on Monday, April 22nd from 11 a.m. until service time at 1 p.m. at the Colonial Terrace Funeral Home in Eldorado. Service will be conducted by the Rev. Roy Dale Orr with burial at the Murray Hill Cemetery near Eldorado. Donations in Dorothy’s memory may be made to Murray Hill Cemetery.
