Guy L. Abbey, Sr.

Guy L. Abbey, Sr., 89, resident of Eldorado passed away Monday, October 22, 2018 at Eldorado Rehab and Healthcare.  Guy was born March 12, 1929 in Enfield, Illinois to the late Herschel and Mabel (Young) Abbey. On March 14, 1948 he married the former Frances Robertson who preceded him in death.  He attended College Heights Baptist Church in Eldorado. Guy is survived by two sons: Guy Abbey, Jr. and Raymond Abbey, a grandson: Dr. Brian Abbey, two granddaughter-in-laws: Shannon and Colette, two great granddaughters: Allegra and Coryn and his dear, loving friend, Betty Wright. In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by a son: Vernon Wayne Abbey, a grandson: Brent Abbey, a daughter-in-law: Rita Karen Abbey, and six brothers and one sister. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday, October 25, 2018 at Colonial Terrace Funeral Home in Eldorado with Rev. Russell Helton officiating. Visitation time will be Thursday, noon to service time at 1:00 pm at the funeral home.   Burial will follow in Maple Ridge Cemetery in Carmi, Illinois.
