Harvey E. Miller

Harvey Eugene Miller, 65, resident of Raleigh passed away Saturday March 25, 2017 at his residence. Harvey was born August 21, 1951 in Eldorado to the late Jess and Loise (Everhart) Miller. Harvey owned and operated several carnival games and followed several State Fair Carnivals.  He loved children, all children. Harvey had a passion for fishing and playing card with friends. He was a member of the Raleigh First Baptist Church.  Harvey is survived by his best friend and life partner; Vickie Leffler of Raleigh, two sons; Travis (Sherri) Miller of TN, Eddie (Michelle) Leffler of KY, siblings; Jesse (Darlene) Miller of MI, Irene “Sis” (Tom) Towle of Mattoon, Neva McKibben of Mattoon, John (Linda) Miller of Danvers, IL , Glen (Raynell) Miller of Raleigh, Joe (Patty) Miller of Harrisburg, Dorothy (Bob) Sadler of Ridgway, Pansey (Jewell) Mizell, MI, Mavis Smirnes of Mattoon, Todd (Karen) Miller of Champaign, two grandchildren; Kaytlynn and Jordan, sister-in-law; Donna Miller of CA.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers; Charles “Shorty” Miller and Merlin Miller, a sister; Jesse Dale Gerboc and a grandson; Brandon Leffler.The family would like to recognize and offer a special thanks to Hospice of Southern Illinois Nurses Tammy and Amy, a longtime special friend Jeanie Newnum and Harvey’s nephew; Johnny Miller. As per Harvey’s wishes he will be cremated and a Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, April 1, 2017 at the Raleigh First Baptist Church with Pastor Roy Dale Orr officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children's Research Hospital.
