John D. Kelly

John “Jack” D. Kelly, 93, resident of Eldorado passed away November 30, 2017 in Evansville, Indiana at the Linda E. White Hospice House.  Mr. Kelly served in the United States Army in the 3rd infantry at a Private 3rd Class during World War II and was stationed in Sicily, Italy.  John was born in Leisenring, PA.  At a very early age he and his family moved to Ohio where he was raised.  After returning from war, he married and adopted his three sons; Larry, whom preceded him in death, Terry and Gary both whom still reside in Ohio with their families. After the passing of their mother, he relocated to Florida where he met Rosellia “Rose” Kelly.  The two were married June 22, 20014 and in 2006 they moved to Eldorado. John and Rose enjoyed their years together both in Florida and Illinois.  Rose cares for John in their home until 2015 when he moved to Carrier Mills Nursing and Rehab.  Rose continued to see and care for John nearly everyday.  John is survived by his wife Rose, his adopted sons and their families, as well as Rose’s four children and their families. He is survived by 16 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.  In addition to family John leaves behind friends whom he shared great friendships everywhere he went. Memorial services will be at 12:00 pm Noon Saturday, December 9, 2017 at Little Chapel Church with burial immediately following in Wolf Creek Cemetery with Military Rites. Visitation will be at the church 11:00 am to service time.
