Lavetta J. Boyke, 87, of Harrisburg, died on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at Carrier Mills Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Lavetta was born in Harrisburg on August 10, 1930 to the late Herschel and Keln Fritts. She was married to the late Joseph Boyke. Lavetta is survived by five children, Paula (Steve) Lindsey of Harrisburg, Stephen H. Boyke of Carbondale, Mary Jean Lilley (Scott Neal) of Benton, Joseph C. (Debbie) Boyke of Harrisburg, and John (Pam) Boyke of Troy, Montana. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah Shewmake, son-in-law, Tom Lilley, and a brother Carroll Fritts. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary Catholic Church of Harrisburg at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 16 with Father Abraham Adejoh officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Lawn Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Colonial Terrace Funeral Home in Eldorado.
