Michael D. Irvin, 63, resident of Galatia passed away Saturday, April 7, 2018 at Ferrell Hospital in Eldorado. Michael was born August, 1, 1954 in Harrisburg to the late Philip and Wanda (Guye) Irvin. He served in the US Navy, was a coal miner, and a avid musician. Mike is survived by his loving wife: Marlene (Gollihur) Irvin, a daughter: Jessica (Chad) Martell of Sheldon, IL, three sons: Michael Jeremy Irvin of Eldorado, Justin David (Becky) Irvin of Galatia, Phillip Jonathan (Mistie) Irvin of Galatia, seven grandchildren: Mason, Weston Martell, Makayda, Isaac, Ian Irvin, Landon, Adalie Irvin, a step-grandson: Skyler Windham, two brothers: David (Carlos) Irvin of Chicago, Denny (LuAnn) Irvin of Galatia, three sisters: Diane Clarida, Debbie (Steve) Evans and Becky (Paul) Butler all of Galatia. He is also survived by several brother and sister in laws, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and will be dearly missed by many. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by an infant son: Mathew Jason Irvin. In lieu of flowers, please bring a dish to the memorial service, if you play an instrument, please bring it with you. Memorial services and meal to follow will be 1-4 pm Wednesday April 11, 2018 at the Flock Building in Galatia.
