Richard O. Banks, resident of Eldorado, passes away Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at Ferrell Hospital. Richard was born April 24, 1935 in Raleigh, IL to the late Richard and Sarah (Wright) Banks. He married to former Brinda Flannigan who survives. Richard worked in the Keensburg Coal Mine prior to retirement. He Served in the US Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the Eldorado VFW and the American Legion. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son; Rich (Ashley) Banks of Arkansas, two daughters; Pam (Carl) Gollihur of Eldorado, Penny Johnson of Naperville, a sister; Sharon (Gary) Holmes of Shawneetown, a grandson; Henry Banks of Arkansas and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by four brothers; Gale, David, Ralph, Dale and a sister Patricia. Funeral Services will be at 1:00 pm Saturday, June 30, 2018 at Colonial Terrace Funeral Home in Eldorado. Burial will follow at Hickory Hill Cemetery in Broughton with Military Rites.
