Richard Dean Harris

Richard Dean Harris, 77, resident of Herrin passed away Monday, November 20, 2017 in Terre Haute, IN as a result of an automobile accident. Richard was born in Eloise, Michigan to the late Allene Harris. Richard served in the US Army.  He married the former Sondra Winfree who survives.  Richard was employed with Pepsi of Marion for over 50 years.  He was a member of the Scottsboro Baptist Church of Marion. In addition to his wife Sondra, Richard is survived by two daughters; Cathleen (Mark) Bollmann of Carterville, Cynthia Jean (Tony) Alumbaugh of Tennessee, grandchildren; Richard Alumbaugh, Kenner Alumbaugh, Julie Ann Bollmann, Mark Andrew Bollmann, great grandchildren; Zechariah Simmons, Zoey Simmons, Braxton Bollmann, Ava Parrish Bollmann, Hendrix Bollmann, sister-in-law; Shirley Harris, a special aunt Pauline Aud of Norris City and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his mother he was preceded in death by his twin brother, Lewis. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, November 24, 2017 at the Scottsboro Baptist Church in Marion with Pastor Mike Hood officiating.  Visitation will be 11:00 am to service time at the church. Entombment will be in the Egyptian Memorial Mausoleum in Herrin with Military Rites.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Scottsboro Baptist Church and will be accepted at the church.  Condolences and expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family via the website www.colonialterracefuneralhome.com
