Rita Kay (McDermott) Peyton

Rita Kay Peyton, 73, resident of Herod, IL passed away Friday, April 27, 2018 at her residence.  Rita was born July 22, 1944 in Harrisburg, Illinois to the late Wesley and Hazel (Kaegi) McDermott. Rita worked for ScotLad in Eldorado and later at Family Counseling Center in Golconda. She was a member of the Bethany General Baptist Church in Herod.  She is survived by four children: Andy Wajvoda of IA, Kelly (Rick) Wilson of Eldorado, Robin (Eric) Edmister of Marion, Erin (Dan) Silanskis of Hendersonville, TN, a brother: Allen (Wanda Hohimer) McDermott of Cave-in-rock, grandchildren: Jessica (Anthony) Hudson, Blake Wajvoda, Britney Wajvoda, Cord Edmister, Ian Edmister, Colin Edmister, Jackson Silanskis, Madelyn Silanskis, great grandson: Gabriel Hudson, longtime friend: Nancy Nelson. Memorial services will be held Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at 4:00 pm at Rita’s home with Pastor Stan Pennell officiating with a Celebration Gathering following at 5:00pm.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Bethany General Baptist Church.
