Sandra Sue Smith, 76, resident of Harrisburg passed away Monday, September 4, 2017 at her residence. Sandra was born January 11, 1941 in Harrisburg to the late William Truman and Mildred Lorene (Fulkerson) Rhine. On April 28, 1956 she married Richard “Dick” Smith who preceded her in death on December 14, 2015. She worked as a Coordinator for Golden Circle in Harrisburg. Sandra is survived by a son; Richard “Rick” (Chris) Smith of Odessa, MO, two daughters; Kathy (Deryl) Tolbert of Harrisburg, Robin (Earl) Kanady of Galatia, three brothers; Jeff (Jill) Rhine of Ridgway, Rex (Rosemary) Rhine of Marion, Philip Rhine of Eldorado, a sister-in-law; Mary Ann Harner of Eldorado, brother-in-law; Bill (Betty) Smith of Eldorado and five grandchildren and 10 grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a grandson; Timmy Hogg, and a brother in law Wayne Harner. Graveside Services will be 11:00 am Friday at Rhine Cemetery in Raleigh. Those attending should go directly to the cemetery. The family would like to offer a special thank you to Candice, Donna, Jennifer and the entire team at Hospice of Southern Illinois for their care and compassion.
