Al Duncan age 75 of Raleigh, IL entered into the arms of Jesus on Thursday, July 24, 2025 at home with his daughter by his side. He was born September 10, 1949 to Andrew and Carrie (Gibbs) Duncan at Pearce Hospital in Eldorado, IL.
He married his best friend and the love of his life, Annie Brumley on May 24, 2002 sharing 20 years of marriage before her passing on February 8, 2022.
Al is survived by his daughter Marie Adams and friend, Andi of Harrisburg, IL. Grandsons Tyler Short and Benton Adams both of Harrisburg, IL. Sisters Rosalee Davis of Eldorado and his twin sister, Alma (Bob) Young of Eldorado. Several nieces and nephews, and cousins. Sister-in-law Dorothy (Syers) Duncan of Carmi, ex-wife Paula (Humm) Duncan of Harrisburg, IL. In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by brothers Everett Duncan, Noble Duncan, Billy Duncan, and two infant brothers. Sisters Delphine Cravens, Emogene Stricklin and Evadine Duncan.
Al was a graduate of Harrisburg High School class of 1968. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He worked for many years at Bowen Center in Harrisburg before being transferred to Anna State Hospital until his retirement. He enjoyed junking with his wife, playing pool, fishing, spending time with the kids, sisters and friends. He loved attending his church, Mt. Pleasant Social Brethren Church #2. He enjoyed his Sunday dinners at Alma and Bob’s. Celebration of Life for Al will be held Wednesday, July 30, 2025 at Mt. Pleasant Social Brethren Church in Raleigh, IL. Visitation is from 9:00AM to 11:00AM. Graveside services immediately after. Pastor Blake Bradley will be officiant.
Full military honors and Burial will be at Vienna Fraternal Cemetery in Vienna, IL.
