Alvin David Harper, 80, resident of Edwardsville passed away July 27, 2024. David was born May 8, 1944 in Eldorado to the late Lowery Ellis and Ruby Fays (Oliver) Harper. He married the former Anne Dibble who preceded him in death. He served in the US Army. David was a machinist for McDonald Douglas and later Boeing. He is survived by three children: Jane (Fred) Steinkuehler, Elizabeth (Shea) Forrester, Alvin D. Harper, Jr. and five grandchildren: Mitchell and Riley Steinkuehler, Kelton, Claire and Grace Forrester, brother: David Gene Harper, two sisters; Joella Ray Hughes, Alice Roxanne and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brothers; John Paul Harper, Andrew James Harper, William Henry Harper, Robert Ellis Harper, Edward Dale Harper, Gene Matthew Harper, Theodore Oliver Harper and three sisters; Dora Leann Diettrich, Alice Fay Reynolds and Vesta Rose Davidson. Graveside services will be at 1:00 pm Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at Cedar Bluff Cemetery South of Harrisburg. There will be no visitation, those attending should go directly to the cemetery.
