Betty Jane (Gates) McInteer, 90, resident of Galatia passed away Thursday, June 27th, 2024 at Carrier Mills Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Betty was born on September 7th, 1933 in Alton, Illinois to the late Alden and Lillie Gates (Campbell). Betty is survived by her two children, Linda (Darrel) Burner of Jeffersonville, Indiana, and Joe (Patty) Potts of Galatia along with three grandsons, four great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter McInteer, Sr., a brother, Alden (Bud) Gates of Tucson, Arizona, and a sister, Irene O'Neal of Eldorado. At her request, Betty had a simple graveside service with only her children present along with an immediate burial at Northfork Cemetery in Broughton IL.
