It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of our father. Charles Russell Gilliam who left us on August 3rd, 2024 at the age of 81 at his home surrounded by his loving family in his final moments. He was a man of immense humor and wisdom, cherishing every moment spent with loved ones. Charles was born December 30, 1942 in Vienna, Illinois to the late Charles R. and Ruth A. (Russell) Gilliam. He worked as a coal miner. He married the former Dorothy Hetterscheidt who preceded him in death. He then married the former Gay Lynn Stuttle who all preceded him in death. Russell is survived by a daughter: Michelle (Steve) Asmus, a son: Ben (Misty) Gilliam, brother: James (Hiroko) Gilliam, sisters: Janice (Glen) Lankfort, Linda Blumenthal, 10 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. In addition to his parents and wives he was preceded in death by a brother, Tom Gilliam. He was cremated at his request and there are no public services requested.
