Clessie Fae Rettinghaus, 83, resident of Carmi passed away Friday, November 13, 2020 at the Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro. Clessie was born December 16, 1936 in Corinth, Mississippi to the late Herman and Lorene (Davis) Weems. Clessie was a US Army Veteran and worked for the NSA in Washington D.C. Clessie is survived by two children: Eric (Angie) Rettinghaus of Carmi, Fay Lynn Newman of Carmi, a brother: Dannie (Jackie) Attebury of Florida, grandchildren: Amanda Newman of Carmi, Luke (Brittany) Ruthledge of Carmi, Abigail Rettinghaus of Carmi, great grandchildren: Adialyn Welty, Chayce Rettinghaus, Matthew Rutledge, a brother-in-law: Earl Howell and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother: Joe Allen Attebury, a twin sister: Jessie Howell and a grandson: Matthew Charles Newman. Clessie was cremated at her request and there will be no public services at this time.
