Derak R. Jones

Derak R. Jones, 93, resident of Harrisburg passed away Thursday, March 23, 2023 at his residence. He was born November 16, 1929 to the late Ray and Cordelia (Tate) Jones in Carlinville, Illinois. At a young age his father nicknamed him “Tom.” Derak served in the US Air Force.  He married the former Allene Stults who preceded him in death in 2010. Later he married Clara Belle (Short) Sisky who survives. He retired from Southeastern Illinois Electric Co-op. He was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church. In addition to his wife he is survived by two daughters: Cindy (Fred) Plumlee of Thompsonville, Sarah Troehler of Chatham, s step son: Terry Sisky of Harrisburg, a step daughter: Joni Sisky of Murphysboro, five grandchildren: Matthew (Ashley) Plumlee of Harrisburg, Derak (Stephanie) Plumlee of Galatia, Jamie (Megan) Jones of Murfreesboro, TN, Jack Troehler of Chatham, Emma Jane Troehler of Chatham, great grandchildren: Hadleigh, Ansley, Rowan, Zackery, Isiah and Caden. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by son: Randy Jones and a daughter: Janie Neal. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 28, 2023 at Colonial Terrace Funeral Home in Eldorado. Visitation will be Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until service time on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Shiloh Cemetery in Whittington.
