Donnie R. Cross, 63, of Eldorado passed away on July 24, 2024. Donnie was born in Clayton Missouri on February 16th, 1961 to Donald & Ann Cross. In 1968 his family moved to Ava, Illinois where Donnie spent his youth. He loved to cook and was an accomplished chef by trade. He also loved his dogs. If you met Donnie, you would say that he was friendly and outgoing, some would say he was the life of the party. Donnie met his partner, Tony Dugaro in May of 1982 and they spent the next 42 years together. He will be missed by everyone who knew him, but especially Tony.
Donnie is survived by his partner, Tony Dugaro, his mother Ann Cross, sisters Mitzie (Gabby) McBride, Dee Cross (Julie Loy) and nephew, Darin Glodo.
Additionally, Donnie is survived by Tony’s family, sister, Joella Belanger (Bob), nieces and nephews, Mary Michalak (Dave), Roberta Waterworth (John), Kimberly Dugaro Campbell, Teresa Dugaro Smith, Logan Curry (Tami), Joseph Curry (fiancé, Krystal Horton), Aston Dugaro (Alina), Shelby Dennis (Mason), great nieces and nephews, Sophia, Olivia and Layne Curry, Dylan and Angelina Dugaro, Bentley Dugaro, Nirvana, Zeppy and Vedder Dennis.
Donnie is also survived by a long-time friend, Kenny Pack.
Donnie was preceded in death by his father Donald Cross and nephew, Duce McBride.
Donnie was also preceded in death by Tony’s parents, Joe and Anna Dugaro, Tony’s brother and sister-in-law, Steven K. and Janet Dugaro, Tony’s nieces and nephews, Annie Kesson, Kyle Smith, Ashlee Smith and Tony S. Dugaro.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, July 27, 2024 at Colonial Terrace Funeral Home in Eldorado with Randy Sork officiating. Visitation will be Saturday from 11:00 am until service time. Cremation will follow services.
