Edward “Ed” D. Lewis, 84, resident of Eldorado passed away Tuesday, August 18, 2020 at the Natures Trail Health Center in Mt. Vernon, IL. Ed was born May 8, 1936 in McLeansboro, IL to the late Ed F. and Thelma Lorene (Crawford) Lewis. He served in the US Army. He married the former Pauline E. Tolbert who preceded him in death. Ed worked at Roundy’s in Eldorado as a maintenance supervisor prior to retirement. He was a member of the Eldorado First Baptist Church. He was a lifetime member of the Masonic Lodge and a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason, Belleville, Illinois. Ed is survived by four children: Philip (Vicki) Lewis of Evansville, Indiana, Leisa (Dan) Ross of Eldorado, Aprille E. Ford of Harrisburg, DeLinda (Paul) Elder of Olney and 7 grandchildren. In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by a brother: Charles Leroy Lewis. Graveside services will be at 11:00 am Saturday August 22, 2020 at Wolf Creek Cemetery with Rev. Randy Plunkett officiating. Visitation will be from 10:30 am to service time at the cemetery on Saturday. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Carmi Baptist Children’s Home and will be accepted at the cemetery.
