Effie Lavonne (Naas) Massey

Effie Lavonne “Vonnie” Massey, 72, resident of Raleigh passed away Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at Eldorado Nursing and Rehab. Vonnie was born September 24, 1949 in Eldorado to Edward Naas and Opal Jean (Awalt) Naas. She married Henry R. Massey in October, 1985. Vonnie is survived by her mother, Opal Naas of Ridgway,  her husband, Henry Massey of Raleigh, two daughters: Lisa (Craig) Conner of Denver, CO, Tracy (Rob) Nelson of Raleigh, step-son, Brian (Carri) Massey of Raleigh, three brothers: Simon (Sandy) Naas of Ridgway, Lawrence (Barb) Naas of Carbondale, Benny Joe (DeAnne) Naas of Evansville, IN, four sisters: Carolyn Graham of Harrisburg, Peggy Jean (Tom) Dobbs of Olive Branch, MS, Dianne Siggins of Kissimmee, FL, Becky (David) Schou of Mt. Ida, AR, grandchildren: Ned, Dan and Ally, step grandchildren: Kyley (Audree), Samantha, David, Jewell and Catherine and she is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Vonnie was preceded in death by her father, Edward Naas, an infant sister, Mary Teresa Naas and a step-daughter, Connie Massey. Funeral services will be at 12:00 p.m. (noon) Friday, September 9, 2022 at Colonial Terrace Funeral Home in Eldorado with Justin Ferrell officiating. Burial will be in Raleigh Masonic Cemetery. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. to service time on Friday at the funeral home. In addition to flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and will be accepted at the funeral home.
