Elsie Elizabeth Porter, 95, resident of Staunton, formally of Galatia, passed away Monday September 14, 2020 at the Heritage Manor of Staunton. Elsie was born May 4, 1925 in Mitchellsville, Illinois to the late Charles C. and Nellie Mae (Stone) Kuppart. She married James Carl Porter who preceded her in death. Elsie is survived by a son: James Christopher Porter of Staunton, a daughter: Lisa Diane (Vern Best) Force of Worden, a step son: David Lee (Cherry) Porter of MI, grandchildren: Aaron Force, Jason Force, Ryan (Mandy) Pelhank, Jonathan (Caroline) Pelhank, Victoria “Tory: (Danny) Pelhank McCorkell, and 9 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a stepdaughter: Katherine Suzanne Pelhank, all of her siblings: Earl Kuppart, Orville Kuppart, Elmo Kuppart, Carl Kuppart, Edward Kuppart, Charles Kuppart, Mary Kuppart, and Betty (Kuppart) Sauls. Graveside services will be 1:00pm Monday September 21, 2020 at Douglas Cemetery with Frank Ferguson officiating. There will be no visitation. Those attending should go directly to the cemetery.
