Eric A. Brannock

Eric A. Brannock, 64, of Eldorado, passed away at 1:13 a.m. on Wednesday, July 17, 2024 at Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville, Indiana. Eric was born August 7, 1959 in Eldorado. He married the former Betty Waller who survives. Eric was an Insurance Salesman in Eldorado for many years. He was also a referee for over 40 years. He officiated basketball, football, and baseball. He has been the Head of Officiating for the Eldorado Holiday Tournament since 1996. In 2011, Eric was inducted into the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame. Eric was an avid fisherman and golfer and he loved both the Green Bay Packers and St. Louis Cardinals. Eric is survived by his wife, Betty Brannock of Eldorado; children: Jason (Tiffany) Brannock, Shea Butler (Bekah Jeffries), and Erin (Joel) Owens; grandchildren: Ally, Avery and Adele Brannock, Chayse and Graham Curry, and Colbie and Rhett Owens; siblings: Lee Ann Grief, Zachary Ballard, Sonny (Sherry) Dotson, and Pat (Everett) Zarse; aunt June Lloyd; cousin Ross (Kara) Lloyd; goddaughter Ashley Grumley; nieces and nephews: Blaina (Cole) Sanders, Tracy Riley, Brandon Waller, Drennan (Alexa) Waller, Cole (Preslee) Waller, Justin (Christie) Love and Emily (Dotson) (Nick) Chmielewski; mother-in-law Georgia Thomas; sister-in-law Rhonda Love; and brother-in-law Rory (Brigitte) Waller. Eric was preceded in death by his mother Jo Ann (Ross) Ballard and step-father Fred Ballard. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 20, 2024 at Colonial Terrace Funeral Home in Eldorado with Rev. Blake Clayton and Rev. Jeff Rush officiating. Visitation will be Friday 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Wolf Creek Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a scholarship fund that will be in created in Eric’s honor.
