Gary M. Reeder

Gary M. Reeder, 81, resident of Eldorado passed away Monday, May 29, 2023 at Ferrell Hospital. Gary was born November 19, 1941 in Eldorado to the late Palmer and Madge (Martin) Reeder. On June 19, 1960 he married The former Judy Darleen Wagner who preceded him in death March 3, 2018. On December 29, 2018 he married the former Betty Jane (Sink) Arflak who survives. Betty wants everyone to know that she loved him very much. In his early years Gary worked for Ford Motor Company but for the majority of his life he worked as a coal miner. He was very proud of his mining accomplishments. He was a deacon at the First Baptist Church in Eldorado for several years, he enjoyed his coffee time with his friends at the Eldorado Golden Circle, liked to tell jokes but he enjoyed fishing above any other hobby or pastime.  In addition to his wife Betty Jane he is survived by two sons; Jeff (Deborah) Reeder of Benton, Stanley (Ruthann) Reeder of Indiana, grandchildren; Joni (Josh) Page, Stephanie  Chmykhalov, Zachary Reeder, Christie (Greg) Newkirk, Gary Jarvis, Jr., Makenzie Jarvis, six great grandchildren; KateLynn, Noah, Weston, Lucah, Elouise, Ava, a sister-in-law: Shirley Reeder, and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years; Judy Darlene Reeder, and three siblings: Dewey Reeder, Stanley Reeder and Hazel Reeder. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 2, 2023 at the First Baptist Church in Eldorado. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to service time at the church.
