Gregory (Greg) Albert Stamps, 67, resident of Eldorado for the past 8 years, passed away Tuesday, April 19, 2022. Greg was born July 26, 1954, in Eldorado to the late Marion Joseph Stamps and the late Betty (Toon) Stamps. He was a former resident of Collinsville, IL where he graduated from Collinsville High School in 1972. He enjoyed hunting and was a race car enthusiast. He was the president of Stamps Sewer & Pipe Cleaning, Inc., the family business, located in Granite City until his retirement due to work related injuries. He is survived by his wife Cathy (Young) Stamps, two sons: Jeffrey Michael (Michelle) Stamps and Ian Albert (Jodie) Stamps, a brother: Stephen Stamps (Dolly Wood), two sisters: Brenda Boyd and Charlotte (Roy) Hinderliter, a stepdaughter: Michaela Jolliff: two stepchildren: Jason (Courtney) Houseright and Heather (Ben) Troester, a brother-in-law: George (Sherry) Young. Greg especially loved his grandchildren Paige, Ryan, Katie, Grace, Nathan, Jonah, and Cora Stamps, and step-grandchildren Reece, Remi, Rhett Houseright and Aidan, Mia, and Gideon Troester; and numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, and friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother: Joseph Harry Stamps, father-in-law: Rev. George Young, mother-in-law: Wilma L. Young and brother-in-law: William O. Boyd. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 29, 2022 at Colonial Terrace Funeral Home in Eldorado with Rev. L.D. Jolly and speakers John R. Hampsey, Jr. and Bob Bailey officiating. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday, April 28, 2022 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Wolf Creek Cemetery. In addition to flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society and will be accepted at the funeral home.
