Hilma McSparin, 92, resident of Galatia, formally of Eldorado passed away Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at her residence. Hilma was born May 1, 1929 in Waterloo, Illinois to the late Walter and Emma (Pape) Werling. She married Charles H. McSparin who preceded her in death January 22, 2012. She was a member of Gospel Assembly Church. Hilma worked at Barnes Hospital as a Medical Records Clerk and later in long term care at Sunset Nursing Home. Hilma is survived by two children: Naomi (Melvin) Hall of Galatia, John H. McSparin of Eldorado, two sisters: Martha Voiles of MO, Colleen (Bill) Smith of KY, two sisters-in-law:Bonnie Werling of TX, Audrey Werling of IA, 5 grandchildren: Aaron (Jennifer) Hall of Eldorado, Andrew (Rachel) Hall of DuQuoin, Meagan (Jonathan) Street of KY, Timothy McSparin of Eldorado, Sarah McSparin of Eureka and 7 great grandchildren: Lani, Joshua, Caleb, Charli, Luke, Jaxon and Theodore. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a son: Timothy McSparin, 2 brothers: James Werling, David Werling and a sister: Violin Werling. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 15, 2022 at Colonial Terrace Funeral Home in Eldorado with Rev. L.D. Jolly officiating. Visitation will be Saturday, January 15, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lindale Cemetery.
