Homer Ray Riden, age 72, of Eldorado, Illinois passed away peacefully at Eldorado Nursing Home and Rehab on Monday, February 17th, 2025. He was born on September 10th, 1952 in Eldorado, Illinois, the son of Homer Luther Riden and Mary (Kitchens) Riden. He married Sandra Kay (Irvin) Riden and together they shared many years of marriage together until her departure from this earth on November 19th, 2024. Homer is survived by his brother, Ronnie Riden, three sons, Robert Alan(Amy) Riden of Conroe, Texas, Christopher Lee (Renee) Riden of Old Shawneetown, Justin Ray Riden of Eldorado, one daughter, Nichole Francis Riden of Shawneetown, and one step-son, James Michael (Amber) George of Herrin. He is also survived by an ever growing number of grandchildren and great grandchildren including: Chloe, William, Dakota, Taylon, Amelia, Abbie, Emrie, Eastyn, Anikon, Addison, Alie, Tyler, Destiny, and Gigi. He is also survived by a host of extended family members and friends, such as family friends, Stan and Reeba Harrawood who Homer loved working for. He is also survived by his precious puppy, Trixie. Anyone who knew Homer knew what a hardworking provider he was for his family. He served in the U.S. Military as Military Police in his younger days. After settling back in Eldorado, he drove a Semi truck the rest his working days. He could be heard chatting it up on the CB as Scale Runner. He loved working for Stan Harrawood Trucking in Galatia. Stan and Reba became close family friends. He loved all John Wayne and Western movies and had an extensive collection. He also loved knick knacks and whatnots and loved putting together K'nex sets. Homer was always quick to put everyone's happiness in front of his own and would do anything to make someone smile. He loved his children and his grandkids wholeheartedly. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Glen and John Riden, and grandson, Carter Riden. Cremation services have been entrusted to Colonial Terrace Funeral Home in Eldorado, Illinois. There will be no public services.
