Irma G. Cox, 86, resident of Mt. Carmel formally of Eldorado passed away Sunday, January 10, 2021 at her residence surrounded by her family. Irma was born December 30, 1934 in Harrisburg to the late Rufus and Ruth (Cox) Griffith. She married Ivan Cox who preceded her in death on October 20, 1990. Irma was Baptist by faith, she loved her family immensely and enjoyed to crochet, knit, embroider and spend time with her dog and cat. She worked as a legal secretary until retirement. Irma is survived by three daughters: Brenda (Keith) Whitler of Eldorado, Glenda Weirauch of Harrisburg, Cynthia (Wes) Yarbor of Mt. Carmel, a brother: Terri Lee Griffith of Harrisburg, seven grandchildren: Gary (Holly) Grisham of Eldorado, Melissa (Paul) Marshall of Mt. Carmel, Andy Whitler of Chicago, Josh Whitler of Harrisburg, Michael Cox of Johnston City, Chris (Karin Wiggins) Nunley of Mt. Carmel, Amy (Rob Russell) Kidd of Indiana and 8 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a son: Michael I. Cox and a sister: Monzelle Hatashita. Graveside services will be at 1:00 pm Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at Wolf Creek Cemetery with Rev. Tony Hodgson officiating. Those attending should go directly to the cemetery.
