J.P. “Jay” Woolard, 72, resident of Eldorado passed away Saturday, July 31, 2021 at his residence. Jay was born February 4, 1949 in Harrisburg to the late J.P., Sr. and Norma (Forester) Woolard. He married the former Yolanda Briddick who survives. Prior to retirement Jay worked for the City of Eldorado Water Department. He was a member of the College Heights Baptist Church. Jay was an avid fisherman. He is survived by his wife Yolanda Woolard of Eldorado, a daughter: Jaymi (Doug) Fitzpatrick of AL, a son: Brad (Jennifer) Woolard of KY, grandchildren: Kyle Fitzpatrick, Grant Stoerger, Henry Stoerger, a brother: Micky (Peggy) Woolard of Harrisburg, mother-in-law: Jenny Briddick of Eldorado, brothers and sisters-in-law: Sandy (Jim) Butler of IN, Alan (Tamera) Briddick of Eldorado, Letha (Bert) Ashby of Eldorado and Nancy Hall of NE. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Don Hall. Funeral Services will be at 1:00pm Monday, August 2, 2021 at Colonial Terrace Funeral Home in Eldorado with Rev. Russell Helton officiating. Visitation will be Monday 11:00 am till service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in Cottage Grove Cemetery. In addition to flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois or the American Cancer Society and will be accepted at the funeral home.
