James A. “Jim” Cummins, 70, resident of Eldorado passed away on Monday, May 1, 2023 peacefully at home surrounded by his family. He was born August 2, 1952 to the late Raymond (Red) and Opal Cummins. On June 8, 1974 he married the love of his life, Connie, who survives. Throughout his life he enjoyed playing guitar, taking trips to the farm, and yearly summer vacations with the grandkids. Jim loved the outdoors, was a craftsman, and an outstanding woodcarver. He taught his girls the importance of looking up at the stars, but most importantly he always encouraged his family to take time and enjoy the little things, for they are what mean the most. Jim married his high school sweetheart, Connie, that he loved faithfully for nearly 50 years. They had a marriage that was strong, admirable, and true. He was loved by so many, but especially by his family. Jim worked as a lab manager in surrounding coal mines, and retired from SGS coal in 2017 after 40 years. Jim is survived by his two daughters, Carrie Jo (Jimmy) Sisk and Katie (Chad) Albers. His five grandchildren Kaleb (Chandler) Williams, Molly Williams, Jack Bruce, Tucker Bruce, River Sisk, and his three great-granddaughters, Taylen, Stella, and Stevie Williams. He is also survived by his brother, Danny (Linda) Cummins, along with several brother in laws and sister in laws, cousins, nieces and nephews.
