James Roland Vessel

James Roland Vessel, resident of Raleigh, Illinois passed away Tuesday, September 20, 2022 at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale. James was born May 10, 1939 in Eldorado to the late Bud and Mable (Carnahan) Vessel. He served in the US Marines. He was a retired Brickmason. He married the former Penelope Ingram who preceded him in death. James attended Dorrisville Baptist Church in Harrisburg. He is survives by five children: James Victor Vessel of Raleigh, Kirk Allen(Natalie) Vessel of Paducah, Christian Royal (Kim) Vessel of Eldorado, Amber Lillian Floyd of MI, Christina Lynn Vessel of Marion, a sister: Brenda Austin of Carrier Mills, 10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by siblings: Buddy Vessel, Johnny Mac Vessel, Jack Vessel and Shirley Horton. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 26, 2022 at Colonial Terrace Funeral Home in Eldorado with Rev. Dewayne Taylor officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, September 25, 2022 from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Wolf Creek Cemetery.
