Janet Marie (Dews) Thomas

Janet Marie Thomas, 76, resident of Carmi, formally of Galatia passed away Friday, February 21, 2025 at Meadow Brook Skilled Nursing and Rehab in Grayville, Illinois. Janet was born April 17, 1948 in Lincoln, Illinois to the late Wilford and Margaret (Sisk) Dews. She married Darrell Thomas who survives. They were married for 34 years. Janet worked for the Visiting Nurses Association out of Evansville, Indiana and as a hospice nurse. She enjoyed taking care of the elderly. She was a member of Rose Church in Norris City, Illinois. She enjoyed spending time with her family, knitting, motorcycle riding and long trips in her mustang. In addition to her husband she is survived by a daughter: Melissa D. Miller, three grandchildren: Natalie Hyde, Sophia Hyde and Briar Hyde, a brother: Wilfred Thomas, II and a sister: Doris Molt. A celebration of life will be held in Lincoln, Illinois at a later date.
