Joel Stanley who was a retired IYC youth supervisor and longtime resident of Eldorado went home to be with the Lord Saturday, June 14, 2025 at the age of 67. Joel is survived by wife Kathy, daughter Brandi Gunning (John), son Adam Stanley (Ashton), sisters, Cathy Keltner (Carroll), Jan Schimp (Chris), Melissa Roby (Allen), brother, Len Trammel, half sisters, Jacqui Hobbs (Mark) and Pattie Jones (Baraka) and his cherished grandchildren, Easton Cummins, Griffin Thomas, Emerson Stanley, baby Hudson Stanley along with several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his beloved parents Jack Stanley (Joyce) of Marion, IL and Connie Trammel (Lendell) of Harrisburg, IL as well as mother and father-in-law Loren Bean (Ruth) of Eldorado. Joel was a devoted husband, father, papaw, brother and friend. He enjoyed motorcycles and the time he spent leading the White Horse Riders Christian Motorcycle Ministry. Joel loved camping and traveling with his family and their unique and often comical adventures. He married the love of his life, Kathy Bean, in September of 1978. They welcomed their two loving children, who were the most important part of his life. Joel will be deeply missed by all that knew him. A visitation service is scheduled for 11:00 am Friday, June 20, 2025 at Colonial Terrace Funeral Home in Eldorado with funeral to follow at 12:00 pm Noon. Services will be officiated by Pastor Jeff Rush with special words by Rich Rister both of whom Joel loved and admired. Burial will be in Lindale Cemetery.
