Johnny Knight Obituary

Jonny Gene Knight, 61 of Equality passed away Friday September 26, 2025 at his residence. Johnny was born February 15, 1964 in Eldorado, IL to Homer and Rennie (Sisk) Knight. He married his wife of 34 years Donna (Haney) Knight on June 28, 1991 after meeting her at none other than a gas station parking lot. He worked for Bob Williams Saw Mill for 5 years and for best friend Brian Roe at Roe’s Yard Care for 25 years doing what he loved best. He loved Mowing, landscaping, gardening and spending time outdoors with his grandsons. He always loved telling stories, had a wicked sense of humor and enjoyed making people laugh. He was an avid sports fan, loved baseball, football, college football and basketball. His favorite teams were White Sox, Alabama (Rolltide!) and the Kansas Jayhawks. He loved music and music trivia and collecting pocket knives.

He is survived by his wife Donna (Haney) Knight, daughter Dominique (Aaron) Vailes of Equality, grandsons, Grayson, Ryker and Hayden Vailes of Equality, mother; Rennie Knight of Eldorado, sister Lisa Knight of Equality, brother; Jim (Angie) Knight of Equality, nieces and nephews; Alex (Taylor) Knight of Ridgeway, Sarah and Gracie Knight of Equality, Heather (Morgan) Whitlock of Galatia, Ethan Haney of Harrisburg, Brie (Darren) Robinson of Indiana, Kamerin Akins of Missouri, Keegan Braden of Indiana, Carlynn, Gage and Preston Scott of Galatia, uncles; Ronnie (Bud) Sisk of Equality, John (Wimp) Sisk of Leamington, Cousins; Preston Beaver of Equality, Ronnie (Buddy) Sisk Jr. of Equality, Jamie (Chris) Ozee of Equality, father and mother-in-law; Don (Vicki) Haney of Harrisburg, sister-in-law; Mary Neal of Harrisburg, brother-in-law; John (Tina) Haney of Galatia. He was preceded in death by his dad Homer Knight, grandparents; James and Anita Sisk and James and Mary Knight, aunts; Mollie Honea, Violet Beaver, Deane Sisk, Sue Sisk, Uncles; Johnny Knight, Gene Beaver, and Ron Honea, cousins; Lawana Hancock and Cindy Sisk.

A memorial will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, family is asking for donations to help Donna. They can be made out to his daughter, Dominique Vailes at 402 W. Davis St. Equality, IL 62934
