Juanita Fern (Prather) Stevens left this world in the arms of an angel on May 13, 2023 at Ferrell Hospital in Eldorado. She was born March 21, 1929 to Hubert and Iola (Modglin) Prather in Raleigh, Illinois. She married Ranse Stevens on November 12, 1949 in Morganfield, KY. He preceded her in death August 24, 1977. Also preceding her in death is her first grandson: Bryan Irvin, brothers: James Prather, Lowell Prather, Thomas Prather, John Prather, Willard Prather, Billy Prather, Kenneth Prather, Lindell Prather, sisters: Toleda Gobin, Bonita Gobin and Melva Jean Prather. She is survived by her children: Marion (James) Feller, Sheila (David) Phelps, Roger (Terri) Stevens, a sister: Oneda Furlong, grandchildren: Jennifer (Steve) Trussell, Lori (Clint) Zoch, Brock (Kristin) Stevens, Steve Feller, Darren Stevens, great grandchildren: Breonna (fiancé Dylan) Irvin, Brittani (Rian) Hatton, Sara (fiancé Jordan), Haley Stevens, Shelby Zoch, Emerson Trussell, Hunter Stevens, Madison Zoch, Evan Stevens, great great grandchildren: Hayden Buchanan, Brennan Buchanan and Lincoln Wolf. Juanita had attended Mt. Pleasant Social Brethren Church #2 since 1964. She loved reading her bible everyday, especially the Book of Ruth. She loved the outdoors, and you could find her almost every morning in the summer working in her flower garden or mowing her yard on her riding lawnmower. Quilting was also a passion for her for many years. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at Colonial Terrace Funeral Home in Eldorado with Rev. Mark Finnie officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday 11:00 a.m. until service time. Burial will be in Raleigh Masonic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or to Hospice of Southern Illinois and will be accepted at the funeral home.
