Kelly A. Cochran, 60, of Eldorado passed away Sunday, June 2, 2024. Kelly was born May 30, 1964 to the late Betty (Bruce) and Dannie "Red" Cochran who survives. Kelly married John D. Smith October 1, 1983, even though their marriage ended, she and John remained good friends. Kelly was a loving mom, grandma, daughter, sister, aunt, niece and friend. Any time spent with her girls and grandkids, were her favorite. Especially summer nights, sitting around a fire listening to music with her grandkids running around. She also loved camping, racing- she enjoyed going to the 157 drag strip, boating and fishing. Kelly was a cook at Eldorado Middle School. She enjoyed serving the students and staff. Her favorite years at work were the years that her grandkids were in middle school, during those years many kids adopted her as grandma Kelly or G-ma Kelly. She loved seeing previous students out and about and hearing about their life after middle school. Kelly was proceeded in death by her mom, Betty. She is loved and missed by her father Dannie, her daughters, Amber (Jamie) Moore and Bridget Smith, grandkids, Sandra Moore, Jesse Moore, Aliyah Smith, and Shea Moore, her sister, Betty "Jeannie" (Don) Whitaker, nephew Gavin Allen, great nephew Gibson Allen, her best friend, Roger Koker, and aunts, uncles, and cousins. The family would like to thank Dr. Robert Swaney, nurse Gina Jones and all of the staff at Ascension Medical Group St. Vincent - Newburgh cancer center and hematology, for all of the compassionate care given to Kelly as well as the love and support shown to her family. Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm on Thursday, June 6, 2024 at Colonial Terrace Funeral Home in Eldorado. Visitation will be Thursday 10:00 am until service time at the funeral home.
